It’s been a big week. We celebrated three years of life in Switzerland and surviving one week of life with a broken child. Kudos to families who do this all the time. It is full on. She is doing amazingly. I suspect that we’re doing less amazingly although her daddy nailed it with a sheepskin clad sledge and pocketful of sweets earlier so we could still be out in the snow. Her unspent energy has been converted into noise. She is LOUD. And tough. Thank god. As for Switzerland, despite witnessing far more moments of brokenness than the one in this picture, it has been the making of us. When the world get’s moving again, say yes. #breakaleg #squeezelife #nonormal
We chose to come to Zermatt the weekend that half of the Sahara desert blew across the alps. So everything was a bit sandy and brown and strangely eerie and apparently there was supposed to be a very famous mountain behind me but you’ll have to take my word for it. (It was still awesome.) #matterhorn #zermatt #sandstorm #twoworldscollide
I couldn’t finish my run because the vineyards were an ice rink but they are forgiven 💛 #newday #stoppedinmytracks
What I wouldn’t give for another day with my mum.
I made it to 40.
We witnessed a small miracle over the last couple of weeks. Our naturally cautious toddler went from never skiing before to telling us to go away so she could ski down the baby slopes all by herself in just 6 lessons. She isn’t even 3 yet. The ski whisperer is @helentrayfoot (and the magic skis are from @skihire2u ) Pals with kids, we will share her if you are nice to us. Watch vids for evidence. 😶⛷ #shecanskibefore3 #thisgirlcan #childrenofmountains #châtel
